Recently Google did some updates to Google Sync so that it will support the iPod Touch and iPhone devices through the Exchange protocol. Both my wife and I use the Google calendars and also have shared calendars so I figured it would be a good idea to enable these for my iPod. The tutorial at Google worked out nicely. However, I was unable to enable multiple calendars as described. It just claims that my device is not supported.
In order to fix this I had to change the application’s language to “English” (maybe another language other than Norwegian will work too). The link to do so can be found at the bottom of the page.
Clicking it will bring up a page with a list of devices being synchronised. I selected my iPod and a list of all available calendars appeared :-). Now I can happily view (and edit) all my calendars on my iPod. The only issue I’ve found so far is that the colours are wrong.
Note that since iPhone OS 3.0 it is also possible to synchronize using CalDAV. I did give that a try too, but it was too cumbersome to add multiple calendars and it does not support synchronising contacts.
